All time favorite movies n directors !!

Last night i was listening to “Purani Jeans” on radia Mirchi …. on air was the song “tere mere milan ki ye rena” from the movie Abhimaan directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. I like his movies but my favorite director is Basu Chatterjee who direct similar type of movies as Hrishikesh Mukherjee … but i find Basu Chatterjee’s movies more interesting.

Baton baton mein , Rajniganda, Manzil, Choti si baat are my all time favorite. The songs, the stories, the characters … they all are amazingly beautiful. Every one in his movies has a distinct individuality. The characters … it seems as if only that particular person would have performed that character n no one could have done it better.

Yash Chopra’s movies were my favorite too … movies like  Trishul, Deewar, Kala Pathar, Lamhe and many more …. i guess till the movie Daar  – i like nearly all the movies directed by him.

The heroines look their best in his movies be it Rekha (Silsila), Juhi Chawla (Daar), Sridevi (Chandni/Lamhe) …. and this is one of the best thing about his movies. But movies from now a days (directed by Yash Chopra or his son) doesn’t really have that charm or specialty. They are too much romance like Dilwale Dhulaniya lejayange … (Kajol looked stunningly beautiful) … Mohobatein, Dil to pagal hai, Veer Zara, Harippa  n so on !!!

So does this means i don’t like romantic movies … well i do like romantic movies but with an interesting story line …. too much unnecessary romance for me is difficult to digest – but i do like Jab we met n Jane tu ya jane na !!

Do not like Karan Johar’s movie … they are rubish !! i generally prefer low budget movies like “Khosla ka ghosla”, “pyaar ka superhit formula” . Or movies with little different stories like “Page 3”, “Fashion”, “Chak de India”, “Gajjni” are some of them.

Hollywood movies (?) … i don’t like super scientific movies like star trek -(but i do like Matrix, i robot , Transformers) ….  horror movies – too much blood or creepy staff are not for me.  I like animated movies including Harry Potter (i really enjoy them), Jame Bond type movies, semi-romantic movies, thriller/suspense … Like “Sherlock Holmes – nothing escapes them” … which will be released on 8th January.

I have little time to watch movies … but when ever i get time i watch old hindi movies – mid 60s to 80s … there are the movies i enjoy most 🙂
